In a Metaphysics class, the professor was talking about Plato's world of essences, where the attributes of some material object would be stored.
But couldn't there be some world above that which would store the attributes of the original attributes? And couldn't this go on forever?
And if you, who are reading this have already studied such a thing, could you please tell me what the name of this discipline, or topic is formally, so that I could get a book and read up on it? I would also like to know if there is a kind of math that symbolically treats this, and where I could find that.
Also, on any number line, or some arbitrary curve, it kind of either goes in either the positive or negative direction. But is there a way to picture geometrically a smooth, differentiable tri-continuum, so instead of having two polarities, postive and negative, you could then have three polarities, which I couldn't even think of naming at this point. But then you could have all the way up to infinite polarities, as long as they were smooth and differentiable, of course. I don't want to be discreet about this.
