hi, Guys!

I really need your help. I have a question in the book that goes something like this: determine for a group of males aged 70 the age by which their population will be approximately cut in half. And the probability of death in age 70 is 0.02861.

I have no idea how ti solve it. I guess I can assume the # of males is X, but I have no formula to use it with.

I don't think there is enough information here. You could determine from the information given that about 3% of the population would be dead after the first year but then since we don't have the probability of death for 71 year olds or above there is no way to determine at what point half of the men will be dead.
