On the Advancement of Physics, The Nature of New Ideas, The Corruption of Bureaucracy, and Moving Dimensions Theory
Physics has been furthered far more often by a rugged individual
acknowledging the simple and obvious in a pursuit of the truth than
book-keepers-in-training playing games in the abstruse in pursuit of
tenure. The advancement of physics has ever depended far more on logic,
reason, and Truth than government grants, tenure, group think,
peer-reviewed journals, and aging bureaucracies. "That is the way
things are because that is the way things are," has lead to far more
physics than the contemporary, "things can't be that way because the
math dictates that we live in thirty-three dimensions and four are
curled up, and that is what NSF is funding."
When experiments showed that light existed only in quantized packets,
Einstein proclaimed that light only existed in quantized packets, and
he won the Nobel Prize. When spectra from atoms showed discreet
energies, Niels Bohr proclaimed that electrons orbits were quantized,
and he received a Nobel Prize. When Maxwell's Equations had a recurring
constant, Maxwell used c to denote it, and Einstein proclaimed that the
speed of light must be constant for all observers-and so Special
Relativity was born. When Einstein juxtaposed objects falling towards
the earth getting closer together with the fact that two people
starting at the equator, walking on originally parallel lines of
longitude towards the North Pole, would come together because they were
walking on a curve surface, Einstein proclaimed that the space-time
around a massive object must also be curved. This along with Einstein's
realization that the force of gravity would be rendered null in
free-fall, lead to General Relativity.
And so it is that in the above paragraph you have the roots of the
greatest achievements of physics in the past 100+ years, dwarfing
String Theory, Loop Quantum Gravity, and thousands of their variatons,
which deal in the abstruse, complicated, muddled, and mythological
worlds which are safe from physics simple rigor.
Moving Dimensions Theory returns us to simpler times. It starts with
the simple and keeps it simple. Light travels with a maximum velocity
of c, because the fourth dimension is expanding at a rate relative to
the three spatial dimensions at the velocity of c. A photon expands
through space in a spherically symmetric manner. This is because the
fourth dimension expands through the three spatial dimensions in a
spherically symmetric manner. Energy and mass are equivalent, expressed
by E=mc^2, because energy is nothing more than mass rotated into the
expanding fourth dimension. The Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen effect (EPR)
effect, which calls instantaneous action at a distance "spooky," can be
accounted for by the expanding dimension-as a point expands, it is yet
a single locale in that dimension, and hence though separated by
distance in space, interacting particles may be in the same place in
the time dimension, and hence connected. The null vector of the photon,
which remains 0 no matter how far the photon travels in space-time, may
be accounted for by the fact that the fourth dimension is moving, and
thus the only way to stay still in the four dimensions is to move with
along with the expanding dimension. In Lorentzian Transformations,
there is no way for an object to be rotated into the time dimension
without it moving-this can be explained by the fact that the time
dimension is expanding. All wave-particle duality can be seen as the
result of the universe's existence upon a reality that has three
stationary spatial dimensions and one expanding time dimension-when
matter exists in the stationary dimensions, it is seen as mass, or a
particle. When matter exists in the time dimension it is seen as wave,
or a photon, or energy. Depending how we choose to observer matter
determines whether we observe its wave or particle properties. Photons
are quantized bundles of energy that propagate at the velocity of
c-this is because the fourth dimension is expanding relative to the
three spatial dimensions in a quantized manner, in units of Planck's
length at the rate of c. The Second Law of Thermodyamics, or the law of
Entropy, states that the universe tends towards disorder. This is
because the fourth dimension is expanding in a spherically symmetric
manner, constantly carrying all photons and interacting particles away
from one another-thus a drop of food coloring in a pool will be carried
outward and evenly distributed. In 1949 Godel published a paper showing
that within the theory of relativity, time as we understand it, does
not exist. Einstein recognized Godel's paper as "an important
contribution to the general theory of relativity," and since then
physicists have not been able to find any logical shortcomings in
Godel's work, and nobody has been able to account for the existence of
time. But the Theory of Moving Dimensions accounts for time as we know
it by showing that it is an emergent property of the underlying
dimension's intrinsic relative movement. Relativity becomes
increasingly exact at long-length scales but fails at short ones
because space-time itself is quantized, as the time dimension is
expanding in units of the Planck length.
The concept of general relativity's smooth geometry, at large scales,
disappears on short-distance scales-this has been a problem to string
theorists, but only because they were never bold enough to recognize
that's the way it is because that's the way it is. Realizing this might
have lead one of them to see that the fourth dimension is expanding at
a rate of c relative to the three spatial dimensions. So it is seen
that Moving Dimensions Theory offers a simple model upon which all
known phenomena of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics may rest. And
because the underlying architecture of the universe is
quantized-because the fourth dimension expands at the rate of c in
units of the Planck length relative to the three spatial dimensions,
quantum mechanics works for the small, while general relativity works
for the large. That is the way it is because that is the way it is-this
was the realization that lead to the postulate of MDT: the fourth
dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.

Yes and we do a lot for that.
You are right in many respects. But nature is contingent with also nice surprises and bad accidents.
Cosmology is in uproar. Physics as well. Mathematics the same. Did you know our dear real numbers don't exist? That infinity is just a notion written on a label on a container that we are calling a set.
Do you know that all leaves from now and history are different.
You wrote a great paper. Thanks for it,
ed van der meulen a pure mathematician who knows math works with models that are abstractions from the reality and we don't know the error between model and physics. Isn't that great
Please read the papers. A new ERA comes. I promote that in the Netherlands and also to the big universities in the USA. And everything in all openness. And we are making things true. We are leaving the middleages.
And that new ERA is based on papers from famous scientists. Like Henri Jules Poincaré, Niels Bohr. Albert Einstein, the early Santa Fe group from 1967 when they worked physcally. And many famous people more. I can refer to articles and books and I have many papers on my site about that as well.
In my own country I have a newspapers at my side. Many papers in the USA know of it. I have written a Katrina paper. For mutual help.
I am now sending charm email to conquer the hearts of the people, for different target groups as well.
Please stay reading the papers.
Have a nice day

I like to add this.
We with people with brains have to be join as one group. And we have to listen to each other. Then we can succeed.
Are you a scientists I am fond of the sciences. But I am also a pure mathematician. Anmds as pure mathematician I ask you why do you believe those mathematical things.
Do you see mathematical things in the air. Are not all leaves now and from history different when we look some precise. Do we walk precise. Aren't there accident. And nice surprises.
This is the layer view coming from physicists.
Wirh a mathematical proof under it. But so logical and written for people without any education.
This is the basis of the new ERA. the layers everywhere paper. Yoou can also google for it.
This is the link that is difficult for many mathematicians.
http://nnw.berlios.de/docs.php/intro-layr
And what do you think of Henri Jules Poincaré 1899. The first big man we are honoring:
http://nnw.berlios.de/docs.php/poincare0
And then Niels Bohr. The whole is more than the sum of the parts.
And Albert Einstein who didn't believe in the mathematical description of fields.
Can you explain me that a field that i will probe with some signal that the spread out field and that can be spread out in a large area. And suddenly in no time a that spread out field shows a particle that is very located. Can you explain me the duality. How can that happen so fast.
I know the mathematical formulae of a field, but being a mathematician I don't believe them
What is the Heisenberg uncertainty. First a pretty big margin. Where is that margin in our mathematical formulae.
The Heizenberg uncertainty is statistical. Fields of a quark are also statistical. Butt ask a mathematician about statistics and he will tell. Statistics need a "mass" under it. What is that "mass" under a quark field.
Don't you see the mathematical formulae aren't exact. Everywhere are margins.
Please google for - margins everywhere
And also for - shifting everywhere
Deductive mathematics is one tool for the sciences and very use for analyzing but for simulations we need other inductive mathematical tools.
And we need both kind of tools then. For the weather forecast. The hurricanes. The power outages. But also for learning. Like professional fly simulators. Total other tools. And don't you like simulations? We are building them. And then only with software that is shifting. Not with mathematical formulae.
I have also many mathematical papers on my sites.
I tell you this as a pure mathematician. Who listen to you as a scientist.
Please listen also to me. And we can join then. The new ERA is certainly based on papers from famous scientists. I can refer to articles and books.

It's not just scientists like Krauss who stands to lose from this; it's all of us. Einstein's theories paved the way for nuclear power. Quantum mechanics spawned the transistor and the computer chip. What if 21st-century physicists refuse to deliver anything solid without a galaxy-sized accelerator? "String theory is textbook post-modernism fueled by irresponsible expenditures of money," Nobel Prize-winner Robert Laughlin griped to the San Francisco Chronicle earlier this year.
http://www.slate.com/id/2131014/
Krauss' book won't turn that tide. Hiding in the Mirror does a much better job of explaining string theory than discrediting it. Krauss knows he's right, but every time he comes close to the kill he stops to make nice with his colleagues. Last year, Krauss told a New York Times reporter that string theory was "a colossal failure." Now he writes that the Times quoted him "out of context." In spite of himself, he has internalized the postmodern jargon. Goodbye, Department of Physics. Hello, String Studies.

Also Krauss has a point, I think. Order is also important. But nature we see as contingent. We can't easily think about disorder in an orderly way. We have to put it in a kind of container that I call a margin. Then we know of hitting or missing. 0 and 1, quantum already. a simple time notion. Too early, In time. Isn't it true only meetings are important.
A margin and for free we see the piling up of energy and material. Then we know of a sudden breakthroughs. Then we see the escape to a lower energy level. And suddenly arriving in another environment.
We are also drawn to the future, escaping to a better place. And what is the future in a frozen mathematical theory. The mathematical numbers are ideal. The mathematical proof of yesterday yields today. But not in physics. Always slightly different measurements. Surely Einstein is counting just the ordinals. We ate in that way we walk in that way. We see breakthroughs in that way. The continuum is Cantor's Hypothesis in mathematics. Only a HYPOTHESIS. There is already quantum mathematics as well.
Time isn't distance like. Another order.
We have discrete mathematics with also new results. With roots in the old primes. Of course the measurements has to decide. We can dream in each direction. And Einstein didn't believe in the mathematical description of the field. Schrödinger was glad. But he didn't understand it either. Theoretical people have to listen also. That am I saying as very theoretically educated mathematician. Who loves physics as well.
We always are abstracting into a model. There are too many details for our instruments. But also the instrument constructors are bright and they bring better instruments. And that is the situation now. We know of femto-second spectroscopy, for instance. We are on a way to a film of one single chemical reaction.
My way is a building up way. First knowing the quantum level in a proper way accepting the measurements. Then we have a basis. And we know in science serendipity is present. Meeting the right guy or girl, getting the proper information. Look that book... stimulating each other and forming better views on thew reality. Read please that book of the early Santa Fe group. In this promotion link for a new ERA.
http://nnw.berlios.de/docs.php/era-000a
That is a book from a great Science writer M. Mitchel Waldrop. A darling of book for a lay.
Do we know what medical people are researching? They produce medicines. Not important? Of course we have to listen to others who know more of something.
And after your desk? You will miss too much.
I agree with you we need another theory behind forces. We know in detail the escape to a lower energy level. But that is a model. In that way I use the model of the philatelist a stamp collector. With precious equal stamps the collector does some effort for sure to get rid of them to earn some money and have a contact. And with stamps that the collector really lacks he or she does a lot to get them. To complete a series is preferable. And in this model between reality of the measurements, and the theories, I'm getting ideas in this gathering phase of nearby forces and long distance forces. That is working with models or metaphors. Not sticking to old views.
We can use also the model of big river systems. There is always a distance between the measured world and our theories. We can't escape that.
Join people with brains together we can save a lot of this world.
And in my own country the Netherland in old Europe We are on our way. The newspapers are our friends already. And the KNMI the weather forecasting institute. And the technical university Delft. They ave to proof in their products that they are useful. Also the medical world In the main city of Amsterdam. So we will overcome our bad government who is deceiving the people. Very clearly.
In the USA is the New York times with people in jail. We have in our country NRC Handelsblad, who early supported the New ERA. We have Jonathan Belisle promoting the New ERA in Canada.
Well, our minister Rita Verdonk. She got a bullet through her window. And the ministers brought that as look we are right. But it was only a stone. And that scientists confirmed. Not a bullet at all.
Our government has warned for attacks in USA tunnels. But there was not such a thing. What they are calling terrorist here are made by our government. Words they say. But acting is another thing. So our government will loose. Just follow the papers.
We have still the macro economy theories of the 19th century, Nobel prices have been given to a more realistic macro economy. More econometrics and on that way.
Many more jobs will arise as well.
And we are on that way. Escaping the middle ages. Is that bad?
Let's have a warm drink. Outside it's cold here. 53 degrees North altitude. and with a rising sea. Mind global warming. The hurricane season is also a warning.
I type on a wobbling keybord in a small tent. Not every one likes what I am doing. So forgive me my typos.
Certainties nobody has.

String theory is nice mathematics.
Informal it's a quite easy theory. Separating by introducing just a dimension. Why? Can someone explain me that. Why just always introducing more dimensions. Why is that necessary? I know we can make theories complex and they can express a lot. The more complex you make the more the theories can express. You only have to recognize things. And our brain wants to see regularities. So a motivation there is.
But for what? Enormous high energies? One string our of a black hole evaporates? How?
I see it simples. What enormous machine we would have to build to produce that enormous gravity field.
What about 0 Kelvin or maybe on a lower scale where we don't have the temperature notion. Another string theory?
String theory can only make it imaginable. One view on it. But why aren't there better views?
Science is building further on others. And not taking a separate course into isolation.
But for me people are free to do that. Not convinced? Bye, bye...

If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.
--Albert Einstein
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
--Isaac Newton
Max Planck, the father of quantum theory, felt that the pioneer
scientist must have "a vivid intuitive imagination, for new ideas are
not generated by deduction, but by artistically creative imagination."
An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually
winning over and converting its opponents: What does happen is that the
opponents gradually die out.
--Max Planck
Moving Dimensions Theory (MDT)
Today I am writing regarding Moving Dimensions Theory-a deeper model
for explaining diverse phenomena in both quantum mechanics and
relativity.
The General Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory:
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial
dimensions.
The Specific Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory:
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial
dimensions at the rate of c in quantized units of the Planck length.
Relativistic, classical, and quantum mechanical phenomena, as well as
time itself, are emergent properties of this fundamental principle.
Newton's laws, the principle of Inertia, Einstein's postulates, and
the inherent wave-particle duality of QM may be explained with this
model.
A FEW YEARS BACK
A few years back, while surfing a towering wave on the Outer Banks of
North Carolina, a beautiful thought occurred to me. Suppose the wave I
was riding represented a coordinate in a dimension. Then although I was
approaching shore, I was not moving in this dimension.
The dimension itself was moving with me-I was surfing the dimension.
In a flash I saw that that is why photons never age-they are moving
along with the fourth dimension, and thus stationary relative to it. In
another flash I saw that that is why a photon's space-time interval
is represented by a null vector, or a 0, no matter how far it travels.
Indeed Einstein stated that an object's velocity through space-time
was always c-even stationary objects are traveling at the velocity c
through time! How could this be, were it not for a fourth expanding
dimension, which matter could surf as photons, giving rise to our
notion of time? And so it is that Moving Dimensions Theory was born as
the wave crested and crashed about me, thundering on down, as I fought
to remain surfing amidst the foam, facing the setting sun silhouetting
the Hatteras light.
And the waves kept on crashing that night. The nonlocal EPR
paradox/effect could be explained by the underlying nonlocality of an
expanding fourth dimension. The equivalence of mass and energy, the
wave-particle duality of all light and matter, the constant speed of
light-it could all be understood via a single principle of Moving
Dimensions Theory: the fourth dimension is expanding relative to the
three spatial dimensions. MDT reached back thousands of years to
resolve Zeno's paradox, then voyaged forth to ease Godel's,
Einstein's, Hawking's, and Penrose's concerns with the
paradoxical nature of a block universe, and arrived in the present,
quelling the oft exaggerated conflicts between relativity and quantum
mechanics, and pointing the way to the future by accounting for
time's arrow and entropy herself. At long last GR and QM could be
married in theory as harmoniously as they are in nature with Moving
Dimensions Theory's simple postulate:
The General Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory:
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial
dimensions.
The Specific Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory:
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial
dimensions at the rate of c in quantized units of the Planck length.
Classical physics, quantum mechanics, and relativity descend from this
simple postulate. Light, and thus all energy, is quantized as the
dimension which transports it expands in a quantized manner. Light
travels at a constant velocity in all frames because velocity is
measured relative to time which is measured relative to the light that
is transported by the fourth expanding dimension. Thus both fundamental
constants h and c emerge from the fundamental nature of the expansion
of the fourth dimension relative to the three spatial dimensions. And
thus MDT provides a simple, unifying postulate accounting for the
classical, relativistic, and quantum mechanical properties of this
universe.
And it's always been simple postulates, as opposed to abstruse
mathematics and mythologies, that have furthered physics.
Moving Dimensions Theory Can Unify GR & QM:
By offering an underlying reality from where both branches of physics
emerge-an underlying reality of a fourth dimension expanding relative
to three spatial dimensions, MDT unifies relativity and quantum
mechanics not with indecipherable mathematical mythologies, but with a
simple postulate. MDT explains quantum mechanical effects such as
wave-particle duality, the EPR effect, and the quantization of light
and energy, as well as the two postulates of relativity: the speed of
light is constant in all inertial frames and the laws of physics are
the same for all inertial observers. MDT also explains relativistic
effects such as time dilation and length contraction. The beauty of
Moving Dimensions Theory is that it explains properties of quantum
mechanics and relativity in the deeper context of a unified framework,
opening a door to a deeper physical reality-the fourth dimension is
expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
The Purpose of Physics
The purpose of physics has ever been to unify diverse physical
phenomena with simple postulates, laws, and formulas reflecting the
deeper physical reality. MDT unifies relativity and quantum mechanics
by positing that they are both emergent properties of moving
dimensions. MDT's simple postulate-the fourth dimension is
expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions-offers the first
satisfactory explanation of the Einstein Podolsky Rosen (EPR) effect
and the nonlocal behavior inherent to the math and physical reality of
quantum mechanics. Time itself is viewed not as the fourth dimension,
but as an emergent phenomena arising from the expansion of the fourth
dimension relative to the three spatial dimensions. This logic
alleviates a confusion of time with an actual fourth dimension where
one can travel back and forth at will, thus addressing Godel's,
Einstein's, Hawking's, Barbour's, and Penrose's concerns about
frozen time, and accounting for time's relentless arrow, the second
law of thermodynamics, and entropy.
This is but a brief treatment of a much larger project.

I agree with you.
I also recognize many things you have written.
I like your approach.
With my fellow mathematicians it was an absurd idea to talk about just margins in mathematics. We can also talk about hard and soft margins. Nothing is special.
We have certainly to have imagination. Otherwise we stay at the same position. Busy maybe on a running train. Where is that train heading to? In what direction that train has started. Also in history we know, Many ideas didn't succeed.
So indeed. First a strange direction (Einstein) building further (Newton).
For instance also inductive mathematics is combining physical notions with deductive mathematics. It's only building further. It's already to see in a line in history. Others paved the way. By Henri Jules Poincaré. By also Kurt Gödel. And Einsten and Niels Bohr and the once famous early Santa Fe group and Karl Popper. Already there is discrete mathematics. Inductive mathematics is just one step further. And that is mainly for simulation tools. So everything stays as well. Inductive tools can work together with deductive tools. I have already given examples for that.
Deductive for analyzing and inductive to train brain functions. A total other application.
And this is an inductive game
http://nnw.berlios.de/docs.php/intro-eleu/noflash
That I see as a mark of science. Other theories stay untouched. Like at many places also the laws of newton are used in our times.
Maybe the theory of everything is overdone. Why everything? Many people don't know it and can live without it. It's nice mathematics. That is true. And the more complex the more you can express. But why are people a believer in it. Is Superstring theory a believe? Quantum theories are certainly functioning. And we can build further on that way. Finding also new things. Also creative.
Dimension.
I see three dimensions. Time and mass energy are other types of notions.
Do you have a general view with your also expanding 4th dimension? If we think that space could be formed at the quantum level. How are dimensions formed then? In the different environment from extremely hot and then inflation. A theory has to survive different environments.
Is there a predefined notion of space? Is that building up short after some big bang. How could space be formed?
Question and questions.
