A truck travels 40 miles from point A to point B in exactly 1 hour. When the truck is halfway between point A and point B, a car starts from point A and travels at 50 miles per hour. How many miles has the car traveled when the truck reaches point B?

Okay...25 BUT WHY?

v = s/t (velocity = distance/time)
The solution is how far the truck is or s = vt.
You get the time interval in question from the first vehicle, t = s/v = (20 mi)/(40 mi/hr) = 0.5 hr.
s = 50 mi/hr x 0.5 hr = 25 mi.

...
t = s/v = (20 mi)/(40 mi/hr) = 0.5 hr.
s = 50 mi/hr x 0.5 hr = 25 mi.Thanks.
I was hoping conics would be able to work to the answer; as it seems conics was avoiding thinking through some homework.
